New Parish Booklets – are now available, listing all Parish activities. These will be handed out at the end of each Mass and available over the next few weeks. One per family please, no charge. We welcome Georgina Edwards who receives her Rite of Welcome at the 10.45 Mass this weekend. National Youth Sunday – 21& 22 November - There will be an appeal in aid of the Diocesan Youth Service (BCYS). Those in the parish gift aid scheme, please use the envelope marked National Youth Sunday . For those who would like to make a donation and do not normally gift aid, please use one of the white envelopes provided by the Youth Service. Please complete all details if you are a taxpayer and wish to gift aid your donation. Details of all Youth Service events can be found on www.bcys.net.SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION – This year’s Confirmation programme will commence in January 2010 at Holy Trinity Church, SWF. If you are in year 9 and above and want to take the sacrament of confirmation, please write a letter to Fr Paul explaining why you wish to be confirmed. To ensure our register is kept up to date, could I please ask that if you think the information we hold may be out of date, please advise us of the correct details on an information update form. These can be found in the Lobby. Please return completed forms to Penny Ginzler, Parish Administrator, either by handing to Fr Paul or posting it through the letterbox of the Presbytery. Christmas Journey - If you would like to come and see the dress rehearsal of the Christmas Journey Live at Marsh Farm on Sunday 29th November at 4pm. please contact Paul and Julie Hardy on 325234 from Sunday 8th November (afternoon onwards). Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Ideally we would like the tickets to go family and friends of the cast, as well as church members. This way it frees up tickets for the actual performances so that members of the public can get to see the show. We are still desperately seeking Joseph – please contact us if you see him! YEAR OF ST LUKE On the First Sunday of Advent we will begin to read again from the Gospel of Luke. With this in mind the Commission for Evangelisation and Formation has arranged an Ecumenical Study Day at Brentwood Cathedral Hall on Saturday 12th December from 10.30 a.m. until 3 p.m. The day will be given by Mr Ian Boxall, who is Senior Tutor in New Testament at St Stephen’s House in the University of Oxford. Preparing Spiritually for Christmas – The following three sessions offer the opportunity to prepare spiritually for the celebration of Christmas: Monday 30th November with Bishop John Crowley, Monday 7th December with Father David Clemens, Monday 14th December with Sister Magdalen Lawler, SND Cathedral Conference Centre, Brentwood @ 7.30pm. Come and enjoy the spectacle of over 500 children singing as one to an original score by Bazil Meade, founder of the London Community Gospel Choir. Bazil will be playing for the concerts – he has appeared on Songs of Praise and provided choral arrangements for artist as diverse as Louise and Blur. The concerts also include individual pieces from each school. The concerts are on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th December, 7pm at the Brentwood Centre.
